The lad who inspired Mike Posner’s ‘I Took a Pill in Ibiza’ has revealed himself.

Bren Dunne took to Twitter this week to see if Mike fancied a stroll down memory lane, and it turns out Mike was only dying for one.

Sharing a photo of himself with the singer, Bren wrote: “@MikePosner, member that pill I gave you in Ibiza at avicci.’

And so started a thread which has brought untold joy to thousands of Twitter users.

While most of us would have assumed Bren was about to get seriously pied, Mike replied, sounding pretty incredulous.

Quoting Dan’s original tweet, Mike wrote: “Are you the guy?!”

And with that, a deep and meaningful friendship was rekindled.

Turns out Mike had been only mad for Bren to get in touch, and was only raging he hadn’t done it sooner.

And like so many of us who have made new best friends in random nightclubs, Bren feared that Mike wouldn’t remember him once the haze of the night lifted.

But Bren, of course he would! He even wrote a song about it.

In response to Mike, Bren admitted he didn’t hold out much hope.

Never thought you would remember it. Didn’t realise how big the track went man then my cousin sent me a interview were u describe it. I was like that’s mad.

Twitter is obviously all over the whole thing, with one recalling Mike’s re-telling of the story in past interviews.

Most people didn’t know who the f*ck I was in Ibiza except for this one guy who recognised me, He was like ‘Are you Mike Posner?’ and he was all excited. He holds up this little bag of pills and is like ‘ You want one?’. And drunk Mike Posner was like ‘F*ck it, yeah.”So I took one and I had never done that before and then I felt amazing. Then when I came down I felt 10 years older.
