Italian designer says the use of 'three-breasted' models was a political statement
MILAN FASHION WEEK played host to a number of models sporting a prosthetic third breast over the weekend.
Why exactly?
Well, according to Italian designer, Giuliano Calza, the decision to feature models with three breasts was a comment on today’s culture.
We know; we’re struggling a little here too.
Acknowledging the correlation between the models used in the collection and a character in 1990s film, Total Recall, Calza told The Huffington Post:
Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Calza, who is the co-founder and creative director of God Can’t Destroy Streetwear, elaborated on the inspiration behind the collection.
Calzo wanted the collection, which featured shorts, sports bra and extra breasts, to conjure images of a dystopian environment.
“Full sustainability is impossible, and I wanted this show to be a wake-up call,” he added.
