Speaking prior to attending the Emmys, the 14-year-old explained that she not only looks up to the Canadian rapper, but considers him a friend.
Giving the interviewers a snapshot into the messages they share, Millie said:
He’s honestly so fantastic and a great friend and a great role model. We just texted each other the other day, and he was like, ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like, ‘I miss you more’.
According to Millie, Drake is also on hand for relationship advice.
About boys, he helps me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he’s great. He’s wonderful. I love him.

In the wake of Millie’s red-carpet chat, members of the public passed judgement on the age difference within the friendship the actress shares with the 31-year-old performer – something Millie addressed in a recent Instagram story.
Why u gotta make a lovely friendship ur headline? U guys are weird… For real. I’m lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance. I’m very blessed to have amazing people in my life. (sic)
Urging critics of their friendship to focus on other matters, Millie added:
U don’t get to choose that for me. It’s nice to have people understand what I do. Now get back to talking about real problems in this world other than my friendships. (sic)
Millie returned to her Instagram story to thank her fans for their support.
