UPDATED: Have you seen this person's arms?

These posters have been appearing around Dublin. But why?

THESE MISSING POSTERS have been popping up around Dublin.

Lost my arms last Tuesday. Last seen waving goodbye to my friend. Very important that I find them as I need them for lots of things, such as POINTING, HUGGING and CHESS. Please contact me if you find them. mymissingarms@gmail.com

This one is on Thomas Street (suspiciously close to NCAD?). Another was seen in Stoneybatter. And we’re going to overlook the rogue apostrophe in “arms” in favour of getting to the bottom of the mystery.

We’ve emailed the address, ~~but no response so far~~ and got the following mysterious response:

I’m slightly confused by your question about what the posters are about! I have lost my arms and am just trying to get some help finding them … Even without arms I still feel that this whole episode has made me see that people are generally good and want to help someone who is in a spot of trouble.

Where are the arms? Who did they belong to? If we all try and find them, does that make it an arms race?
