Missing: one parrot, loves opera-singing and answers to the name 'Captain'

A heartbroken New Yorker has issued a reward for information about the bird.

A HEARTBROKEN NEW Yorker is desperately searching for his opera-singing parrot.

Captain, a 25-year-old green and yellow Amazon parrot, flew off Allen Kirson’s shoulder as they went biking in Brooklyn on the day after Thanksgiving last week and he hasn’t been seen since.

The New York Post says the talented bird who “loves to sing opera” has performed at senior citizen homes and children’s hospitals.

Kirson says Captain also dances, and has a big vocabulary.

“I’m not doing too good,” Kirson is quoted as telling ABC News. “I’m not sleeping, I’m having dreams, it’s like a lost person, you know?”

He goes on the describe the loss of Captain as like the loss of a child and says he is offering a $200 reward for information about the whereabouts of the bird.

This isn’t Captain but a pretty impressive rendition of Mozart’s Magic Flute by a parrot which may be something a bit like what Captain might sing:
