A Gaeilge speaker called Moira O'Deorain has been introduced to one of the world's most popular video games

LAST YEAR, A video game called Overwatch was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PCs around the world.
It’s a team-based shooter game where you play with various “hero” characters, and it’s gone from strength to strength globally, with over 35 million players across all platforms.
Yesterday, they announced a new hero character that will be of particular interest to Irish people.

With much fanfare, Moira was introduced to fans via this video yesterday – and it’s already been watched millions of times
Impressive.
Voiced by Irish actress Genevieve O’Reilly (known for her work in the Star Wars franchise as Mon Mothma), the best thing about Moira is that she speaks a bit of Gaeilge.
Lead writer on Overwatch Michael Chu was asked if she spoke a cúpla focail on Twitter, and he confirmed

A release date has yet to be confirmed, but she’s created quite a buzz in the gaming world.
