Monopoly has set up a helpline to mediate board game-related fights this Christmas

What a relief.

WHAT ARE YOU looking forward to most this Christmas? Dinner? Presents? A bitter, bitter fight over the Monopoly board?

Toymakers Hasbro carried out a survey on the Monopoly’s effect on peace and quiet in households at Christmas, and were seemingly surprised to discover 51% of games end in a fight.

They found that the number one cause of rows was people making up rules, while the second was people being too smug when winning. (Our blood is boiling already.)

We could have told you all of that, Hasbro. You see this scar? This one right here? It’s from a boot token to the face.

In response, they have set up an actual helpline to try and prevent family bust-ups this Christmas. Praise be!

The line will be open from the 24th to the 26th of December, and according to a spokesperson for Hasbro, Monopoly ‘experts’ will guide you through any sticky areas:

We’ll have experts on hand with the official rulebooks to instantly settle any disputes, and advice on how to resolve common complaints, with each person also having the opportunity to make a donation to Childline when they call.

The number is 0800 689 4903. Keep it safe now.
