WE HAVE COWS to thank for wildly popular skincare line, MooGoo.
The Aussie brand came up with a moisturiser based off of an udder cream used on cows which became legendary for its skin soothing properties. Some tinkering later, and a multitude of other products followed.
The natural, edible products (though they don’t recommend eating them) are safe for everyone to use, including children, newborns and mum-to-be during pregnancy and contain all natural ingredients. They’ve also proven to be big winners for a variety of skin conditions, including Eczema, Psoriasis, Seborrheic Dermatitis, acne, among others.
DailyEdge.ie headed to the brand’s first ever press event during the week to have a gawk and test out some products. Here’s what we got:
Irritable Skin Balm
This does exactly what it says on the tin – or claims to anyway. MooGoo’s most popular product, this balm is specifically designed for the symptomatic relief of Eczema, Psoriasis and Sebhorrheic Dermatitis.
Thankfully, I don’t suffer with any of the above, but my skin’s been on the drier side what with the recent cold snap. I decided to use it on my upper arms (where I do suffer from Kerstasis Pilaris, though it’s pretty much under control.)
I was expecting this to be thick and balm-y (can you blame me, given the name?) but was pleasantly surprised at how light and smooth this was.
Tell you what wasn’t a pleasant surprise? The smell. Natural skincare can get a bad wrap for generally not being the prettiest – let’s just say this is very natural smelling.
I can’t say I noticed a massive change in my skin texture – for better or for worse – but I’m happy to keep it on standby should the need ever arise.

Milk Wash
This is marketed as a face cleanser for all over your body. Confusing, right? Anyway, Milk Wash combines six natural low-irritant cleansers.
In this instance, I’d already taken off my makeup, forgetting that it serves this purpose as well (the body/face differentiation got me, ok?!)
However, I did use it in the shower as a body wash and found it to be pretty decent – it’s really gentle while still fulfilling its duties as a cleanser. Plus, there’s no smell with this one.
Price?: €14.95
Score?: 4/5
Skin Milk Udder Cream
This is the hero product that started it all – and after using it, I can understand why.
I am mega MEGA fussy when it comes to moisturisers. My skin can be very sensitive and leans more oily than dry. New moisturisers tend to make my skin freak out. I mixed this, cautiously, with my current moisturiser.
Thankfully, I woke up with wonderfully soft skin and no blemishes – always a big plus. There’s also no smell with this – another win for me. This is definitely one to consider if you’ve “tried everything”.
Price?: Starts at €10.25
