THE VAST MAJORITY of us can would recognise the Luas lady’s voice no bother.
And as for the Iarnród Éireann voice, sure we’ve had that nailed for years.

All of which suggests that the voice you hear on your daily commute plays a bigger role in your day-to-day life than many of us realise.
And that is why we’re particularly jealous of commuters in Vancouver who will be treated to the dulcet tones of Morgan Freeman for the foreseeable future.
The actor, whose God-like voice has spawned countless memes, has lent his voice to Translink for a limited time.
Over the course of this summer, Morgan will be greeting commuters, advising them of a new tap-to-pay feature, and reminding them of train etiquette.
Hello bus riders. This is a smoke-free bus, but I’m sure you already knew that. What you might not know, however, is that you can now tap your Visa to go anywhere TransLink takes you. Have a great day.
And he doesn’t stop there.
Hello transit riders. Remember what your mom used to say: Please keep your feet off the furniture. And also remember: You can now tap your Visa to go anywhere TransLink takes you.
Christ, imagine having Morgan Freeman warning you to keep your feet off the seats.
According to the Vancouver Sun, the new feature was born of Morgan’s long-time collaboration with Visa, with TransLink spokesman Chris Bryan confirming the partnership.
Ads featuring Morgan Freeman’s voice are part of an ad campaign created by Visa. Visa bought ad space on our system to highlight the ability to pay at fare gates using contactless Visa cards.
Much and all as we love the Luas lady, we’re sickened that we’re not lucky enough to get a smidge of Morgan.
