YESTERDAY, WE ASKED you what the most ‘mam’ thing your mam has ever done is, and boy oh boy did you have mam stories to get off your chests.
From fretting about the weather to hand holding, your comments read like a collection of tiny love letters to those marvellous women.
Here are some of our favourites…
Weather-watch mams
Rang me at Electric Picnic to get me to check if my brother was wearing a sun hat.
Feeder mams
Heart of gold mams
Traffic fear mams
22 years of age and still moves her hand towards mine when we are crossing a road as if to grab it. She usually reminds herself and the hand snaps back to her side. You can literally see the internal struggle not to hold my hand. God love her!
Texting mams
For the first 2 years after she discovered texting she’d sign off each message with ‘mam’. In case I forgot who she was.
My mother still does that.
Fretting mams
Was minding my dad while she was in hospital. She left me these notes:
Mams forever.
