Your weekend movies... One Direction and Vikings
WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend?
We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.
Hammer of the Gods
(movieclipstrailers/YouTube)
For fans of: Vikings, swords, blood
Avoid if: You really don’t want to go into battle
This violent film brings us back to the days of Viking Britain (we’re talking 871AD, fact fans), and introduces us to the warrior Steinar. As all good action movies go, he is sent on a quest, and it’s a bloody one. Vikings would no doubt approve of the level of bloodshed, but they were no film critics…
One Direction – This is Us
(OneDirectionVEVO/YouTube)
For fans of: Boyz not men
Avoid if: The sight of super-tight trousers makes you wince
Ah, the lads. One Direction, five guys who are ‘just like us’, only they were birthed on the X Factor and became famous beyond their wildest dreams. Interestingly, this film is directed by Morgan ‘Supersize Me’ Spurlock, so perhaps we’ll get a more nuanced look at the boyband’s life that we would expect.
Pain & Gain
(filmtrailerzone/YouTube)
For fans of: Abs, America, beaches
Avoid if: You’re more into pain than gain
Michael Bay directs this film based on a true story, but given the usual Bay treatment. This centres on three gym bunnies who want more than what they have – so they decide to take down a criminal to get what he has (mainly money and ‘honeys’, hi obectification). Starring Mark Wahlberg and The Rock (or Dwayne Johnson as he prefers to be known these days) this is for you if you like guns of both types.
