Cinema trip this weekend? TheJournal.ie brings you snippets from new releases to help you decide where to put your money…

WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend?

We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.

Ender’s Game

(SummiScreeningRoom/YouTube)

For fans of: Harrison Ford, epic aliens

Avoid if: You hate kids

In this sci-fi movie based on the 1985 book, a young man (Ender) is trained up in Battle School to save the world if aliens invade earth for a second time. Yep, a child is going to save the world. But hey, this is no ordinary child – he could be the saviour of the human race. Chew on that, disbelievers.

Captain Phillips

(joblomovienetwork/YouTube)

For fans of: Piracy, Tom Hanks

Avoid if: You’re on a freighter

Good ol’ Tom Hanks plays Captain Phillips, a real-life captain of a freighter ship that got taken over in 2009 by a small band of determined Somali pirates. Directed by the Bourne Supremacy’s Paul Greengrass, it’s a tense look at what happens when Phillips and crew try to survive the frightening situation.

Enough Said

(Fresh Movie Trailers/YouTube)

For fans of: James Gandolfini, funny love

Avoid if: You’re not down with romance

Divorcée Eva (Julia Louis Dreyfus) starts a relationship with divorcé Albert (James Gandolfini), but their fledgling love is impacted by Eva’s friendship with Marianne… who turns out to be Albert’s ex-wife. Oh dear, indeed. This was Gandolfini’s last film before he died, and looks both sweet and funny.

Escape Plan

(movieclips trailers/YouTube)

For fans of: ACTION

Avoid if: You’re a chump

Arnie AND Sly team up in this epic action movie, in which they try to escape from a super-dooper high security prison. Nuff said, like.
