Angela Lansbury is miffed about the reboot of Murder She Wrote

Aren’t we all, Angela. Aren’t we all.

ANGELA LANSBURY HAS joined the ranks of all right-thinking people, and declared that remaking Murder, She Wrote without her as Jessica Fletcher is a ‘mistake’.

US network NBC recently announced plans to reboot the show, which will now feature the Oscar-winning star of The Help, Octavia Spencer.

Lansbury said she was “sorry” that the show would be reworked, 30 years after its original airing.

I’m sorry that they have to use the title Murder, She Wrote, even though they have access to it and it’s their right.

She added:

I think it’s a mistake to call it Murder, She Wrote because Murder, She Wrote will always be about a Cabot Cove and this wonderful little group of people who told those lovely stories and enjoyed a piece of that place, and also enjoyed Jessica Fletcher, who is a rare and very individual kind of person.

According to Deadline, the new  show will not involve a character called Jessica Fletcher, as “execs and producers determined early on that no one but Lansbury could play that character”.

Look on the bright side: at least it’s not being remade by David Hasselhoff.

Let us not forget the time Murder She Wrote came to Ireland:
