THE THIRD LARGEST city in Germany has legislated for several ‘naked zones’, where it is officially legal to wear no clothes.
Munich has designated six areas around the city centre where people can take off all their togs without fear.
All the zones are in park areas, but are not fenced off in any way, according to a report on AtlanticCities.com which adds that one spot is “barely ten minutes from Munich’s main square”.
Naturism has long been a strong ideal in Germany, where it originated as part of the Lebensreform movement at the end of the 19th century.
There are at least 147 official nudist clubs in the country, and some adherents maintain that nudity has health benefits and helps create a connection to nature.
Also, they don’t have the Irish weather.
