This Irish zombie movie is coming to Netflix if you fancy scaring the shite out of yourself
DAVID FREYNE’S HORROR movie The Cured is finally coming to Netflix, to help us get through Blue January (or potentially make it worse.)
Starring Ellen Page and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, the movie focuses on a dystopian Dublin in which a cure for zombie-ism (?) exists, and the previously infected begin reintegrating with society.
However, Sam Keely’s character Senan continues to be haunted by the the atrocities he committed he was “undead”. Welcomed back into the family of his widowed sister-in-law (that’s Ellen Page’s character), he attempts to restart his life – but is society ready to forgive him and those like him? Or will fear and prejudice once again tear the world apart? (If we didn’t know better, that sounds like a metaphor.)
It’s at 67% on Rotten Tomatoes, with some critics praising it for giving the zombie-horror genre a new spin.
The Cured will be streamed on Netflix from 25 January. You can watch the trailer below or by clicking here.
