GOOD NEWS FOR anyone in Dublin with nothing to do this weekend–the city is playing host to two new markets.
A Vintage Kilo Sale is coming this Sunday, November 15 and it brings a whole new dimension to vintage shopping. It’s happening at the The Green Door Market off Cork Street in Dublin, and ran by Hunt and Gather who are responsible for A Night At the Grand Budapest and The Enchanted Banquet. You can bag some vintage clothes for €20 a kilo.
The main event will start at 12pm, but the real craic starts at 5pm when it will
turn into a BYOB shopping extravaganza complete with Drag Shows, catwalk offs with your newly procured threads, photo booth, DJ’s and much, much more.
CATWALK OFFS.
If that’s not mad enough for you, how does a market rave sound? The Dublin Rave Market invites you to ‘retail while you rave’ which is code for shopping with very noisy music.
It’s all happening at the Palace on Camden Street on Saturday November 14 from 10am, and is ‘inspired by the eccentric Madrid summertime rave markets’.
They list items such as Brooklyn fixies, Bindi jewellery, a German beer garden, pig on a spit and a retro games room as part of the attractions.
There will even be a showcase of those hoverboards you’re seeing everywhere.
So now, there’s no excuse not to get out of the house.
