A new Sherlock photo is sending the internet into a frenzy, but there's one small problem with it...

SHERLOCK FANS, REJOICE. That special you’re all looking forward to? Here’s the first teaser.

Producer Sue Vertue decided to unexpectedly tweet a photo of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in some period attire to give Cumberbitches all over the land a massive heart attack.

She also tweeted a draft script issued over the weekend for the Sherlock special, which is not set to be broadast until Christmas 2015.

Not to worry though, there’s already a twitter account counting down the days, if that’s your thing. At last count:

Their outfits have got fans speculating that the episode could be set back in time. Freeman has previously told Alan Carr that the episode is a unique idea.

It is such a good idea, and as I was listening to it I thought ‘we’ve just got to do this.’ It’s a fantastic, really mouth-watering idea.

However, among the excitement, there was a glaring problem…
