Newsnight acknowledges editor's Twitter mishap in credits

The programme’s editor was forced to apologise.

THE EDITOR OF Newsnight acknowledged his recent awkward Twitter encounter in the programme’s credits last night.

Ian Katz had a little social media mishap when he tweeted about Labour shadow Treasury minister, Rachel Reeves. Katz–in what was originally intended to be a private message–instead broadcast to his 27,500 followers that Reeves was ‘boring’ after she was a guest on Monday night’s show.

According to the BBC, the tweet said:

Tnks … except for boring snoring rachel reeves … playout was fun tho, wasn’t it? telly MUCH netter than snooooozepapers innit.

He later took it down, instead, posting up an apology to Reeves.

Last night, Newsnight broadcast as usual, aside from an interesting addition to their credits.
