Updated: 10.15am, 21 July. Weather: overcast but promising ACTUALLY.
IT LOOKS LIKE US comedian Nick Kroll has arrived in Ireland a few days early ahead of his appearance at the Vodafone Comedy Festival this week.
Kroll (Parks and Recreation, The Kroll Show) is treading on thin ice though, levelling a low blow at the frankly perfect* weather in Dublin at the weekend.
*a bit sunny, might not need my coat, will probably rain, but sure f**k it
Sixty-four degrees Fahrenheit is actually almost eighteen Celsius Nick, okay? Eighteen degrees is nigh-on paddling pool weather, so you’re lucky you haven’t been caught up in a nationwide panic like this:
And if you want an ice cream you better GET IN LINE:
AND DON’T COME CRYING TO US WHEN YOU BURN THE NECK OFF YOURSELF DRINKING PINTS OUTSIDE GROGANS IN BETWEEN RAIN SHOWERS, OKAY?
Kroll will perform with David O’Doherty, Maeve Higgins and John Mulaney in the Iveagh Gardens on Thursday night, with Jon Richardson, Seaton Smith and Barry Murphy on Friday and with Tommy Tiernan and Gearoid Farrelly on Saturday.
Before that he looks to be taking in some classic Irish sights, like this sign about picking up dog shite:
And visiting Ross Castle in Kerry:
Look at those clouds! Imagine the glorious sun just waiting to peep out from behind them! Fill the paddling pool!
We can but hope that Kroll’s lady love Amy Poehler is accompanying him.
Basic research tells us that she was in London yesterday, so the onus lies on us to speculate that she will now spend the next four days being pictured with pints of Guinness and stag parties in Carlingford. For there is nothing better than a celebrity in Ireland. Nothing.
Update:
Nick Kroll continues to defy us…
