A sports commentator on Twitter is getting slagged for using the same pencil for the last 10 months
Nick Mullins / Twitter Nick Mullins / Twitter / Twitter
RUGBY AND TENNIS commentator Nick Mullins shared one of his habits on Twitter back in May. Like a child in primary school curious as to what would happen if you sharpened a pencil all the way back to the eraser, he’s been unable to throw out his “faithful companion”. It looks kind of cute.
People began to speculate about the pencils future.
Despite the fact that he promised retirement for the pencil in May, it made an appearance in Paris for the French Open.
It’s reappearance was greeted with a few puns.
Whoops!

The saga now continues as the pencil is currently living it up at Wimbledon. This pencil has a better life than the rest of us.
Nick’s committed relationship with his pencil has raised concerns about his income.
He confirmed the age of the pencil to a curious Twitter user.
Ten months old and it’s still going strong. People are suggesting he sends it off for a true retirement in Cumbria’s pencil museum.
Hopefully we get some nice closure with this story.
