NOW THAT HE’S finished giving out about Adele, Noel Gallagher has turned his ire towards the rather harmless Ed Sheeran.
In an interview with NME, Gallagher expounded his favourite topic – the state of the modern music scene. He called any band that topped the charts “automatically sh*t”, and blamed social media for the demise of outspoken rock stars.
He then rounded on Ed Sheeran, on learning that the singer had sold out three dates at Wembley Stadium this year:
I don’t think I can live in a world where that’s even possible. When you hear that kind of polished pop and then there’s a ginger guy with a f**king guitar it seems subversive, but it’s f**king not.
Tell that to his legions of fans, Noel.
It’s all water off Ed’s back, anyway – he responded to Gallagher’s rant on Twitter, simply saying:
#TeamEd. Sorry Noel.
