THE ORGANISERS OF the One Love Manchester concert have defended Noel Gallagher for his absence, calling on people to “keep the positivity”.
After the gig on Sunday, Noel received some criticism from fans for not performing for the people of his home city as his brother Liam did.
Earlier this week Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was compelled to step in and squash any rumours that Noel was ever due to show up:
Now One Love Manchester has released a statement telling everyone to pipe down – and revealing that Noel had contributed to the gig in his own way:
Sunday’s concert was a huge success and we are dismayed there is negativity aimed towards Noel Gallagher. Neither Noel nor Oasis were ever going to perform.
We were extremely pleased when, last week, Noel not only gave his blessing for us to use his songs, but also told us that he was donating his royalties from Don’t Look Back In Anger to the fund. Let’s keep the positivity please.
This last line could be aimed at Liam, who certainly wasn’t being positive on Monday morning when he let loose at his brother on Twitter.
He apologised for his brother’s absence while calling Noel a “sad f**k”:
Noel’s out of the f**king country weren’t we all love get on a f**king plane and play your tunes for the kids you sad f**k
It ain’t about Oasis it’s about people helping other people and he’s once again shown his true f**king colours
It’s almost comforting to know that whatever happens, the Gallagher brothers will always be at each other’s throats. Our one constant in life.
