FYI: People aren't too happy about North West's red lipstick in Kim's latest uploads

‘Why the bright red lipstick?’

EARLIER THIS MONTH, Kim Kardashian told Refinery 29 that she allows her five-year-old daughter, North, to apply make-up.

The mother-of-three did, however, say she draws the line at a certain point, explaining:

I don’t think she should wear lashes or too dark of a lipstick. It is a form of expression. So I want her to express herself, but I want her to be appropriate, too.

Given this fact, it’s hardly surprising that Kim was the subject of some backlash last night when she uploaded her family’s festive portraits, which featured North rocking a bold red lip.

The series of photos, which have amassed more than 4,500,000 likes on Instagram, sparked a debate in the comment section as to whether it was inappropriate for North to be wearing the lipstick.

Get that red lipstick off that little girl.
North doesn’t need her hair straightened or lipstick on, she’s a beautiful little girl not a adult. (sic)
Kimmie that red lip stick on North! I know that is your baby but, girl she has my b-day 6/15 lol….Don’t let her grow up to fast! (sic)

Beautiful fam pic but why the bright red lip stick? (sic)

As it turned out, the furore may just work to Kim’s advantage as she revealed on Twitter that the lipstick is one she intends to launch very soon.

But lest there be any accusations that North was under duress to wear it for the big shoot, Kim quickly confirmed the choice was all North’s.

Nice save.
