Look inside: Barack Obama's student flat is up for rent

The US president’s tiny old apartment in New York is available. Let’s have a nosey around, shall we?

IF YOU’RE LOOKING for a modest little place in New York City, here’s one with a little history.

Barack Obama’s old apartment – where he lived while a student at Columbia – is now available for rent.

The two-bedroom flat on the Upper West Side is going for a mere $2,400 (roughly €2,000) – up $500 from when it was last rented two years ago, New York magazine notes. And let’s face it, it looks pretty small.

Also, the only visible residents are two tiny dogs.

Anyway, here’s the blurb from estate agent Citi Habitats:

The apartment is a two bedroom, one bath located on West 109 Street. Fully renovated with lots of charm – including exposed brick, high ceilings, a marble bath and hardwood floors. The apartment also features a galley kitchen, generous closet space, and best of all, its unbeatable dinner conversation!

Well, at least you’d know where to forward the post. So let’s take a look inside – here are the photos from the Citi Habitats listing (It’s not known whether Obama chose the dodgy tree paintings):
