Operation Transformation viewers were uncomfortable with the 'no camera' moment in Cathal's home last night

‘We can talk about this not on camera, okay?’

DIE-HARD FANS of Operation Transformation will know that the show has played host to some seriously heartwrenching moments.

With the leaders sharing their fears and vulnerabilities week in and week out, most of us are used to one hell of an emotional rollercoaster as they slowly but surely inch their way closer and closer to their goals.

But it seems last night’s episode veered into more confusing territory when health expert, Aoife Hearne, and one of the leader’s partners found themselves in a tense situation over meal-planning.

Cathal, a leader from Ballyshannon, welcomed Aoife into the home he shares with wife Agi and daughter Maja, which set the ball in motion for a scene which viewers felt compelled to hash out on Twitter in the show’s aftermath.

Aoife suggested that Agi and Maja include themselves in Cathal’s meal planning – a suggestion which caused Agi to say she no longer wanted to be part of the programme.

“What do you mean you’re out of the programme?” Cathal asked her.

Don’t be daft. You’re the one who put me in for it, Agi, so you know, stay with me, support me on this.

After leaving the room, Agi was followed by Aoife who attempted to smooth over the situation, but they clearly weren’t on the same page.

We can talk about this not on camera, okay? I will look after my child whatever time suits me, whenever I want to eat, I will eat. Nobody will comment, okay.

When pressed by Aoife on the subject, Agi reminded her that the show was about Cathal, and not about their daughter Maja.

And that’s when viewers – and Operation Transformation host Kathryn Thomas – got involved on Twitter.
