A highly scientific study* into the effectiveness of Orangina as a hangover cure
IT’S THE AGE old question. What fizzy beverage will cure my absolute mess of a hangover?
Sometimes you want to reach for something creamy like milk, sometimes it’s fizzy and sugary like coke, and other times all you want is a nice cup of tea.
But with the re-introduction of Orangina in our lives, it seems like it could be the perfect offering.
Whoops!

Can it be true?
Messages boards in search of the perfect hangover cure seem to think so:
Boston magazine asked bar tenders to give up their best hangover cures, and surprise surprise, Orangina was featured.
It was even featured in a 2004 chiildren’s book called A Thief in the House of Memory.
Who would lie to the children?
It all makes sense really. Some research has suggested that the Vitamin C in orange juice accelerates alcohol metabolism.
On top of this, a Chinese study found Sprite and soda water to be the best hangover cure, due to their ability to turn hangover-causing acetaldehyde into the innocuous acetate much quicker than tea and the like.
Orangina is essentially soda water AND orange juice, so it’s the best of both worlds.
