Electric Picnic organisers staying quiet on those Outkast rumours

Shake it like a Polaroid picture.

MIGHT WE ALL be dancing to Hey Ya in a field in Laois at the end of the summer?

Well, that’s the hope anyway with the news that a reunited Outkast have been confirmed to play the Isle of Wight’s Bestival event.

Bestival takes place from 4 – 7 September and often shares headliners with Stradbally’s Electric Picnic. So, there’s a strong possibility that they could be one of the big acts heading for Laois.

However, organisers are staying tight lipped about the lineup so far, with a source telling DailyEdge.ie that meetings about this year’s event are ongoing this week, but that there’s no announcement to make.

Electric Picnic takes place from 29 – 31 August this year, so does not coincide directly with the Bestival dates.

André 3000 and Big Boi confirmed earlier this month that they’re reuniting for more than 40 festival appearances around the world to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

They’ll kick off the tour at Coachella on 11 April before taking on an epic trek around the fields of the world. They’ve also been confirmed to play festivals in Delaware, New York and Georgia.

Also on the festival circuit this year are Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Weezer and Arcade Fire. Arcade Fire have already been confirmed to play with The Pixies at Marlay Park on 29 June.

Prince and Metallica have been rumoured to be on the Glastonbury lineup, although Prince has denied that he will definitely be playing at Worthy Farm.
