OXEGEN HAS DENIED a newspaper report that the music festival is moving to the Phoenix Park.

The Irish Daily Mirror today reported that the festival would be moving from its Punchestown venue in Co Kildare to Dublin’s main public park.

It also reported that the camping aspect of the festival would be scrapped and capacity reduced from 80,000 to 50,000.

However promoters MCD issued a statement today saying:

Following unconfirmed speculation in a morning newspaper, Oxegen promoters can confirm that Oxegen is not moving to Phoenix Park.

Details of Oxegen 2012 will be announced at a later date.

It is also understood that contrary to what was reported in the Irish Daily Mirror there will be camping at the festival this year as there has been every year since its debut in 2004.
