BRENDAN O’CARROLL’S new chat show All Round To Mrs Brown’s began on RTÉ One and BBC1 last night – and the big star was Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson.
Despite ourselves, we were interested to see what Pamela would make of Mrs Brown… and well, it’s unclear if she knew just what she was getting into.
She appeared early on in the show and sat down with Agnes for tea and chats about David Hasselhoff, veganism, and ‘cup sizes’, as other characters from the show wandered on and off the set.
Pamela didn’t appear to be familiar with the nuanced portrayal of the Irish family that is Mrs Brown’s Boys, because she looked highly confused throughout:
She was hauled off after a few minutes by Rory Brown to ‘get her hair done’, then brought back seemingly for the sole purpose of watching Judy Murray (mum of Andy) hit a tennis ball at a target with Novak Djokovic’s face on it.
Viewers proclaimed the whole thing ‘surreal’ and agreed that it was funny – although perhaps not in the way it was intended to be:
Other guests like Louis Walsh and singer James Blunt were more comfortable with the proceedings – Blunt was so comfortable that he did this.
Not something we’d ever thought or hoped we’d see. But that seems to be the sort of thing All Round To Mrs Brown’s specialises in.
Either way, people LOVED it:
We’ll reserve judgement until next week’s episode, which will feature Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. They’ll be well able for Agnes, no doubt…
