Panti Bliss: "I'm going back on The Saturday Night Show"
RORY O’NEILL (AKA Panti Bliss) will be making an appearance on RTÉ’s The Saturday Night Show this weekend – his first since the Pantigate controversy earlier this year.
Today, the drag performer and gay rights activist tweeted that he will be on the show to discuss his new memoir, Woman in the Making.
O’Neill’s last appearance on the show in January sparked controversy when his comments on homophobia were redacted from the RTÉ Player after legal complaints from members of the Iona Institute and columnist John Waters.
Panti retaliated with the now famous Noble Call speech at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin:
Since then O’Neill has been honoured by gay magazine Attitude, and is the subject of an upcoming documentary, The Queen of Ireland.
