PANTI BLISS HAS been named by Time magazine as part of the public vote for their annual worldwide Top 100 list.
Every year, Time publishes a much-talked-about list of the Top 100 most influential people worldwide.
It describes Panti as a “global champion for equality” and “one of Ireland’s most prominent advocates for LGBT rights”. The magazine also says that Ireland’s Yes vote in May last year was “historic”.
The activist and drag queen, real name Rory O’Neill, is one of 127 public figures around the world selected by the magazine for a public vote for inclusion on the final list.
She is currently sitting just ahead of Mark Zuckerberg.
She’s also beating Adele, JK Rowling, Star Wars director JJ Abrams, and Burmese freedom activist Aung San Suu Kyi. At the time of writing Panti has 0.7 per cent of the vote.
Time’s editors will determine the final list – due to be announced next month – but the results of the public poll will also be published. Go here to vote!
