HAMISH AND DANA THOMPSON, the parents of a 21-year-old prostitute linked to Wayne Rooney, have publicly apologised to his wife Coleen Rooney for their daughter’s behaviour.

Jennifer Thompson allegedly slept with Rooney regularly throughout his wife’s pregnancy with their first child, Kai, who was born in November, 2009.

The Telegraph reports that Thompson is currently staying at her parents’ house.

In their statement, her parents said they had no idea about the allegations and apologised to Coleen:

Following the various newspaper articles concerning our daughter Jennifer, we would like to offer our most sincere apologies to Coleen Rooney and her family.

This may sound somewhat hollow, but my wife and I would never condone what has or may have happened.

The family said that they do not intend to discuss the matter any further, and have no interest in media interviews.

The revelations haven’t hampered Wayne on the pitch – he scored for England in last night’s 3-1 win over Switzerland.

Coleen, 24, was seen leaving her house for the first time yesterday since news of her husband’s alleged infidelity broke at the weekend.

In 2004, BBC reported that the footballer admitted visiting prostitutes as a teenager, saying it was something foolish that he regretted deeply: “It was at a time when I was very young and immature and before I had settled down with Coleen.”
