Parrot arrested as accessory to drug cartel
POLICE IN COLOMBIA HAVE arrested a parrot for aiding a drug cartel.
The bird was attempting to tip-off a drug gang as police carried out an undercover raid on the premises.
One police officer described the parrot, called Lorenzo, as “some kind of watch bird”.
Lorenzo repeatedly called out: “Run, run you are going to get caught”. Police say he is one of over 1,600 parrots trained to act as ‘watch birds’ by drug cartels, according to the Telegraph.
Police seized over 200 weapons, a stolen motorbike and a large quantity of marijuana, despite Lorenzo’s efforts.
