Paul from Fade Street was the real star of the show - here's what he's up to now

“See ye after.”

IT’S HARD TO believe that it’s been seven years since RTÉ 2′s iconic reality series Fade Street aired on our screens and propelled Vogue, Louise, Dani and Cici to stardom.

As any avid viewer will tell you, though, the real star of the show was one Paul Furlong from Co. Wexford.

Paul was Dani’s long-distance boyfriend and one of the show’s great supporting characters.

He wasn’t in every episode, but he always made quite the impression when he did show up.

Who can forget when he rocked up to Oxegen and told everyone to f**k off?

This was his succinct take on everyone else in the show.

Don’t hold back, Paul.

And this is what he had to say when Dani instructed him to leave her birthday party and go back to Wexford.

Paul’s antics on the show have ensured that he’s lived long in the memory of Fade Street fans.

Earlier this week, we decided to get in touch with Paul to ask about his experience on the show and what he makes of the reputation he built for himself.

Furlong explained that he was roped into appearing on the show thanks to his then-girlfriend Danielle and said much of what we saw on the show was “exaggerated for entertainment”.

He said that he had “no worries at all” about appearing on the show, stating that it was “all just a laugh, really”.

These days, Paul is still in Wexford (“Here looking for a job at the minute”) and still manages to get stick from pals for appearing on the show.

“Yeah people still say it to me around here,” he explained, before confirming that he had rewatched the show himself a while back.

As for whether he’s still in touch with his co-stars?

No I don’t talk to anyone from the show. They’re just friends on Facebook, that’s all.

There’s still time for RTÉ to give him a spin-off…
