The new Penneys that's opened in New York has kept the 'seats for the lads'

Important.

A NEW PENNEYS opened this week on Staten Island – the first ever in New York City.

With the grand opening on Thursday, the queues were out the door as you’d expect. But perhaps the most important feature from the big reveal was that they’ve kept the all important seating areas:

There are “several wifi recharging areas – with seating”

So you can have a sit down and charge your phone if needed – aka, the dream.

At the end of last year, DailyEdge.ie confirmed that the affectionately-called ‘seats for the lads’ had been introduced to five stores around Ireland:

Customer seating areas with built in phone recharge points are one of our most recent additions. The five stores include Blanchardstown, Mullingar, Newbridge, O’Connell Street (Dublin) and Swords.

And they’ve gone down a treat.

It’s nice to see the same courtesy extended in New York

Never mind the clothes, this is the most welcome feature

The store itself looks pretty good though

Go mad, New York.
