Penneys stepped in to defend a plus-sized blogger after backlash on their Instagram account
THE OFFICIAL PRIMARK Instagram account got so much backlash when they posted a photo of a plus-size blogger on their account, that they had to step in to defend her.
Yesterday, Primark posted the above Instagram of Youtuber and stylist Emma Hill rocking a Prince t-shirt.
While a lot of commenters had a positive response to the photo, the comments section soon turned into a debate on which types of bodies have a right to be presented to us in any context.
Some people were happy to scroll past Emma posing in her new Penneys gear.
But others soon accused Primark of ‘glorifying’ obesity by teaming up with Emma.
The comments ranged from outright disgust, to some resembling an unsolicited concern for Emma’s (and the wider public’s) health and wellbeing.
But Primark weren’t having the negativity, and stepped in to defend Emma.
