THE OCTOGENARIAN pensioner who took it upon herself to improve a 19th-century fresco in a Spanish church has spoken out… to blame somebody else.
The woman pointed the finger firmly at the local priest. “Of course, it was the priest,” she said. “The priest knew! He did!”
This video from the Telegraph also features a cameo by the original painter’s granddaughter, who appears resigned about the whole sorry affair near Zaragoza in the north-east of Spain.
It wasn’t so bad that the woman repainted the tunic, she says. “The problem started when she painted the head.”
