Rugby fans were celebrating, Michael D. Higgins was blessing the streets of Dublin with his warm presence and people out at their local parades were in very good spirits.
That was until… The U.S. Army tried to join in. They decided to share a *qUiRkY* video of explosions and missiles with shamrocks coming out of them to the soundtrack of some generic remixed trad music. Because everybody knows that there’s nothing the Irish love more than imperialism, right?
Those are shamrock bullets. Shamrock cases. Shamrock explosions. Shamrock missiles. Well, actually, they’re all four-leaf clovers because they clearly didn’t do any research on what a shamrock actually is before they made the ill-informed decision to put this video together and share it to their 1.25 million followers.

Then there’s a guy in an army uniform doing the robot. Who gave this the go ahead? Ireland is a neutral country. Our country should not be used in a special green edition Uncle Sam recruitment video that tries to paint the U.S. Army as a really cool place to be, because one guy knows how to do that robot dance.
People, not just from Ireland – but across the world – have condemned the video on Twitter.

People are seriously annoyed about the U.S. Army's St. Patrick's Day message
WE WERE ALL having a great day yesterday.
Rugby fans were celebrating, Michael D. Higgins was blessing the streets of Dublin with his warm presence and people out at their local parades were in very good spirits.
That was until… The U.S. Army tried to join in. They decided to share a *qUiRkY* video of explosions and missiles with shamrocks coming out of them to the soundtrack of some generic remixed trad music. Because everybody knows that there’s nothing the Irish love more than imperialism, right?
