People are seriously ripping the piss out of Fergie's performance of the US national anthem ...it's The Dredge

Your RDA of celeb dirt.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

People are calling Fergie’s rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner the “worst rendition ever.”

Last night, when we were all tucked up in bed, Fergie was busy singing the US national anthem at an NBA All-Star game. There are few times you’ll hear an audience break out into laughter during a national anthem, but this is one of them.

Jimmy Kimmel, Chance the Rapper and basketball player Draymond Green could all be seen trying not to laugh as Fergie performed the jazz rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.

Helena Bonham Carter also had a mildly embarrassing moment at last night’s BAFTAs.

In an attempt to congratulate screenwriter James Ivory, who had been sitting beside her when he won an award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Call Me By Your Name, the actress tried to give him a little kiss.

Unfortunately, he stood up too quickly and rather than getting pied, Helena Bonham Carter decided to awkwardly kiss Ivory’s shoulder.

Aside from the awkward kiss, viewers were happy to see that Ivory’s date to the BAFTAs was Helena Bonham Carter, as she starred in his 1985 film A Room With A View at the very beginning of her career. (NME)

Lionel Richie’s still not really feeling his 19-year-old daughter’s relationship with 34-year-old Scott Disick.

The 68-year-old told The Daily Telegraph how he was feeling about Sofia’s relationship:

She’s 19. When you’re 19 you know everything. Is it going to be for life? I don’t know. But for right now it’s just a phase and I’m going to stand real still in the corner, get me a good drink and not make too much noise.

He also said that he’s trying to remain neutral on the issue.

I told Sofia I will have no opinion. I’ll continue to be my cheerful self and move on.

However, he feels like this is karma for the way he acted when he was younger:

Now I know what my parents meant when I came through the door with my Afro and my girlfriend and said ‘Dad, I’m in love.’ He looked at me and said ‘Okay, we’re going to leave you alone for a minute and you’ll figure it out. My daughter is getting me back for my Afro days!
