So why did people call him ‘Pervert Dave’? After the obituary began to go viral on Thursday, local newspapers asked some questions of Pervert Dave’s loved ones.

It turned out even his closest friends don’t know. “Everybody just knew him as ‘Pervert’,” one friend told the Democrat and Chronicle, adding:

You know how people get nicknames? Well, he got ‘Pervert.’
