There was a big reaction to Pete Davidson's appearance on SNL this weekend
LIVING UNDER THE harsh glare of the public eye has really taken a toll on Pete Davidson.
In the time since he was first linked with Ariana Grande, comedian Pete has been the subject of much online scrutiny from those who do not know him.
And since the pair announced their split back in October, that scrutiny has only intensified.
While Pete was no stranger to the public before, thanks to his role in Saturday Night Live since 2014, his links to superstar Ariana meant he became a household name around the world in mere months.
The online lashing that has ensued since then has resulted in Pete sharing a number of posts commenting on how it has all impacted his mental health, over a year after he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.
Earlier this month, Pete responded to a year’s worth of online harassment telling followers that despite their efforts, they would not break him.
“I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy, the whole entire world just thrashes him without any facts or frame of reference.
“I just want you guys to know.
“I’m upset I even have to say this.”
Those posts escalated last week, when Pete shared a since-deleted note.
Pete’s post resulted in a string of online support from fans and fellow celebrities, including former girlfriend Ariana.
Police also confirmed that they met and spoke with Pete for a ‘wellness check’ after the worrying post was shared online.
However, those posts of love and support still sadly struggled to break through the onslaught of cruel trolls.

However, this weekend, Pete appeared on SNL briefly to introduce musical guest Miley Cyrus and the wave of online support was too great to ignore.
