Piers Morgan said white people should be able to sing the 'n' word and Twitter went ape

And rightly so.

PIERS MORGAN HAS written a new column suggesting that anyone who listens to music which features the ‘n’ word should be free to sing along.

As a middle-aged Caucasian man who has never experienced systematic opression, this is an issue that Piers obviously feels very strongly about.

When it comes to white people using the word, the television host lays the blame firmly at Kanye West’s feet.

Superstars like Kanye West target and exploit white audiences for their music just as enthusiastically as they target and exploit black audiences. So how can they, or anybody else for that matter, complain if a white person sings the very words they have written in No. 1 hit song?”

“But if rappers like Kanye West insist on using it, and writing songs with the word in either form, then it is absolutely predictable and understandable that their fans will sing the songs just as they hear them – regardless of the colour of their skin,” he concluded.

Flawless logic there from Piers.

The column was written in response to an Instagram story video which was posted showing female members of the Alpha Phi Sorority at University of New Hampshire singing and dancing to the song ‘Gold Digger’ at a party. They could be seen and heard singing that chorus, including the repeated use of the word ‘n****s’.

The girls were put under investigation for their behavior, with widespread calls for them to be thrown out of the university. However, the university ultimately decided not the punish them.

Obviously, Twitter went absolutely mad at him.

And rightly so TBH.

Another star who waded into the row was model Munroe Bergdorf – someone who has previously clashed with Morgan on the issue of racism.

Munroe was sacked earlier this month by L’Oréal because she said all white people should take responsibility for fighting racism after the white supremacist march in Charlottesville.

Bergdorf wrote on Twitter: “This will have ZERO ramifications on @piersmorgan’s career. But somehow a black trans woman calling out this behavior is a sackable offense.”

There you have it folks. The hot take to end all hot takes.
