“SHE IS GETTING pretty good. Can hit a 12 inch pie plate from 30 yards,” Carey Hart, Pink’s husband, said of their seven-year-old daughter’s shooting skills earlier this week.
In a post which has made headlines today, Carey shared footage of his daughter, Willow, holding a rifle on Instagram in what he said was an effort to ‘poke the parent police bear’.
Setting the scene for his followers who number in excess of 914,000, Carey explained: “Willz and I shooting the 22 rifle… Started her shooting at 3yrs old.” (sic)
For the record none of us hunt, just enjoy shooting for sport. I’m raising the kids with knowledge of firearms, how to handle them, shoot them, store them, and avoid them in uneducated hands.
The video, in which Willow can be heard asking whether the gun’s safety was on or not, has been viewed more than 334,000 times so far.
Overall, the post, which Carey finished off #knowledgeispower, seems to have been met with positivity, even among those who disclosed they weren’t ‘gun fans’.
Love it! I’m not a gun fan personally but quality time with a caring parent (who educates their kids on gun safety) can actually improve a kid’s self-esteem, and prevent them from being morbidly curious about guns later. Can’t wait to see your wife in concert in March 💖

Saw the Today story; I'm not a gun owner and hate that guns wind up in the wrong hands and do so much damage, but I love that you're treating gun safety as an important part of her learning. Anyone who "hates" on that story isn't listening to what you're doing. Way to go, dad.

Good job we do the same in our household. My husband has taught both our daughters respect and proper ownership of any weapon. I am not a fan but respect my husbands choices and leads by the same example. Your an awesome 👏 parent

Earlier today, Carey returned to social media to acknowledge the headlines made of the post by joking that he had invested in a gift for his son, Jameson.
Sharing a photo of an ‘auto-strap’ for ‘front-seat tots’, Carey wrote: “Check out what I just bought from Sears for Jameson?”
“Sorry, to soon from yesterday’s post?” he asked.
