THERE ARE MANY foods that could claim the crown of Ireland’s hangover favourite.

The breakfast roll, the spice bag, the jambon and the full Irish could all conceivably lay claim to be the nation’s hangover saviour.

But they’re not pizza, and never will be

For starters, most pizza places open from noon so it’s there for you in your hour of need – and crucially none of them close on a Sunday

You can order and receive your pizza without leaving the gaff

True of other takeaways, sure, but consider this:

Pizza works when it’s both hot and cold

Which means that if you got one the night before when you were out, it’s still just as good the next day

No other contender comes close on this front.

So that basically means you can preemptively strike by buying the pizza the night before

There’s something deliciously gluttonous about the whole experience too
