UNLIKELY FRIENDSHIPS TEND to happen when you’re young and open to new things.

But little American girl Sylvie has a friendship unlike any other – as her uncle Pat shared on Twitter:

“Most kids have a stuffed animal or blankie. My niece has one of those plastic owls u put outside to scare away birds”

The plastic lawn owl was bought for her dad to scare away other birds from his boat – but it’s been put to better use.

Pat tweeted about the friendship earlier this week and the internet has fallen in love.

As Buzzfeed reports, it was love at first sight:

She was saying ‘Hi owl, hi owl!’ and just wanted to carry it around everywhere.

Now Sylvie and the plastic owl go everywhere together

Sylvie’s mam thinks it’s great, if a little weird – as she told Buzzfeed:

When I wake up in the middle of the night and look at the baby monitor, there’s an owl face staring at me, which is kind of creepy and ridiculous.
