Police on the hunt for Party of Five star over alleged assault
POLICE IN THE US are searching for Party of Five and Mallrats star Jeremy London after his girlfriend made a 911 call alleging that he had assaulted her.
Police in Palm Springs received the call yesterday morning. Sergeant Kyle Stjerne said that a verbal altercation over custody of the couple’s child became violent and the woman suffered minor injuries.
London’s lawyer Catherine Lombardo denied allegations that the abuse occurred.
London’s volatile relationship and addiction issues were broadcast to VH1 viewers during season four of the reality show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky. The actor has admitted to struggling with addiction to prescription drugs.
London’s most memorable performances include the slacker anti-hero lead role of TS Quint in “Mallrats” and roles on I’ll Fly Away, 7th Heaven and Party of Five. He played the role of Griffin opposite Neve Campbell in the show. He also worked as a stunt man alongside a young Reese Witherspoon in the 1991 film The Man in the Moon – his identical twin Jason London beat him to the lead role in the film.
Last year Jeremy London grabbed headlines when he said that he had been kidnapped and forced to smoke drugs. NBC reports that London said he was changing a flat tyre when armed men abducted him and held him for five hours.
CNN reports that one man was charged in relation to the incident.
