A political pundit just ate a book live on Sky News because he got his Corbyn prediction all wrong
MEET MATTHEW GOODWIN.
He’s a Professor of Politics at an English University and a well-known political commentator on Twitter and beyond.

Why’s he in the news today? Well…
At the end of May, with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn gaining momentum in the polls, Goodwin was adamant that the polling wouldn’t play out in the actual General Election.
So adamant was he that he sent this bold tweet
OK, so he really believed that Corbyn wasn’t going to hit those numbers.
Well… by Friday morning the news was in. And sure enough Corbyn had secured the fabled 38% of the vote (40% in actual fact)

This morning, Goodwin sent out a tweet that seemed to be promising
And yes, it happened. At approximately 4.30pm this afternoon, Matthew appeared live on Sky News with his book. And started chewing some pages

Sky News’ caption seemed disappointed that he didn’t scoff the whole thing:
We’d have more questions about whether any page *swallowing* took place.
Still, Goodwin delivered on his promise – and sent an excellent tweet straight after
Next time, he won’t be so quick to include eating challenges in his political predictions.
