JARVIS COCKER IS one unlikely sex symbol, but back in the 1990s he proved that there was nothing hotter than a man in brown skinny flares and NHS specs.

The lead singer and scribe from Northern English band Pulp, his band’s track Common People was a massive hit amongst indie fans (and, presumably, Sadie Frost, who starred in the video).

Tackling the tale of a posh college student who wanted to live among the ‘normals’, it was a witty slice of cutting social commentary.

Plus, it was a damn good pop song from a band at the peak of their powers. Wicked.
