Rami Malek has explained why he wasn't on board with saying hi to a fan's friends

‘I am who I am.’

IF YOU HAVEN’T yet seen the moment a Rami Malek fan recently asked him to say hello to her friends in a short video, you’re among very, very few.

In a short upload which has since gone viral, the Bohemian Rhapsody star shut down a request for anything but a photo, and honestly, it’s one of the purest examples of how real second-hand embarrassment truly is.

While the fan, who is named Xan Black, dubbed it ‘the most embarrassing thing to ever happen her’, Rami isn’t at all put out by the scrutiny which was concentrated on him following the video’s circulation.

In fact, he think it’s funny.

Commenting on the moment while appearing at the New York City premiere of Bohemian Rhapsody this week, Rami said it simply came down to being protective of his time.

Yeah, we think everyone got that, Rami.

Speaking to E! News, the 37-year-old actor said:

I am who I am and people can interpret that how they want, but I love the fans, I wouldn’t be here without my fans and I try to take as much time as possible.

But on this most recent occasion, Rami?

Well, he was just wrecked from travelling around the earth a couple of times, wasn’t he?

Sometimes, when you’ve been traveling around the earth a couple times, you try to just be protective of your time as a human being. And I’m finding it quite funny.

The moment kicked off a debate as to whether Rami was out of line, or Xan had overstepped the boundaries.
