A traditional Irish tune is going viral thanks to these superb street dancers

Who knew That Rare Old Mountain Dew was so popular on the streets?

THE CLANCY BROTHERS and Tommy Makem are legends on the traditional Irish music scene but now one of their tunes is making waves on the internet.

One of the many old Irish songs they recorded was The Rare Old Mountain Dew, a folk song that’s thought to have been written in the 1800s.

We bet they never thought they’d see the day street dancers were bustin’ a move to it.

Michael Flatley eat your heart out. We wish we knew where these kids came from.

They’re not REALLY dancing to that song by the way: The video’s creator came across the folk classic on YouTube and decided to dub it over the original footage.

Vileness_fats then came across the ‘Celtic Walk’ and decided to upload it to Reddit, where it began to attract a LOT of attention. The current total stands at almost 300,00 views.

Most people were rather amused by the video, although one commenter was a bit sceptical about the whole thing, labelling it:

A shameless viral marketing campaign for Mountain Dew.

We guess he’s never heard the original.

Sure doesn’t it even get a mention in Fairytale of New York?
